My article “Measuring SEO: why rankings are worthless“, which I wrote for Joost de Valk’s blog, is nominated for a SEMMY in the SEO category!
The SEMMYS?
What are The SEMMYS? From the site:
The SEMMYS are an annual awards event honoring the great content produced across the search and online marketing industry, initiated by Matt McGee.
Search Engine Marketing (SEM) has grown to include a variety of disciplines, including blogging, social media, reputation management, and much more. The SEMMYS attempt to include all these elements into one awards event.
44 nominees
I am definitely honoured that my article is one of the 44 nominees in the SEO category, which include articles from people like Aaron Wall (SEO Book), Vanessa Fox (ex-Google), Lee Odden (TopRank) and Joost de Valk himself.
How will the winners be chosen?
A selected jury of SEO experts will choose the finalists (3-6), which will be announced at SEMMYS.org.
At that point, you will be able to vote for a winner in each/any category. Public voting will be open for one week. When public voting ends, the winners will be announced on SEMMYS.org!
The schedule
- January 19, 2009: Official Launch
- January 26: Judges’ deadline to decide category finalists
- January 28: Finalists announced; public voting begins
- February 2: Public voting closes
- February 4: Winners announced
With all these great articles I’m proud already to be nominated for a SEMMY! Of course it would be great to get to the final, but we’ll know this by January 28th. Stay tuned!

Congratulations! Where can I vote?
Thanks, Remi!
When the jury selects me as one of the SEO category finalists, public voting will start January 28th on the SEMMYS site: http://www.semmys.org/
I’m already honoured to be part of the great list of nominees, but let’s hope for the best!
Cool Eduard, you got my vote
I’m nominated indirectly, Bryan Eisenberg gathered a few Analytics tips and tricks and got nominated. One of the tricks was mine. But that doesn’t feel as good as being nominated directly.
Thanks, André!
Being mentioned by Bryan Eisenberg isn’t bad either
And yes, it feels good!
Wow, that’s great news man, congrats
Thanks, Navin!
Congratulations Eduard! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations! This is excellent. The selected post was very good indeed.
